Mobile Estates: An adult Community located in beautiful Sarasota, Florida

President of Mobile Estates
MaryAnn Stankiewicz

BRRR!!  BRRR!! We may think it is cold (this has been a cold January) but I am sure glad that I’m here with my sunshine family and not up north. We just need to think positive, as we have the sunshine and each day brings us closer to spring.

Our Annual Shareholder’s Meeting is coming Friday, March 1 at 1:00 pm.  Hopefully, you will all be able to attend.

It will be one year that I have had the pleasure of serving you as President. The Board and I have been working to enhance our park.  There are things that you can see, such as the beautiful entrance to our park, the new benches at the shuffleboard and bocce area. There are quite a few things that you can’t see but were necessary to update and repair our infrastructure in the park. You can be assured we are diligently doing our best for you.

There were five openings for the Board of Directors and I am pleased to tell you that all five positions have been filled. We continue to work for the betterment of your investment and home.

We are addressing some sewer problems. It is very important that you and your guests only put toilet paper in the toilets. The pump stations and sewer will get blocked, leading to a costly problem to fix. So, please help prevent this unnecessary expense.

A reminder; if you plan to make any alterations you must fill out an application, have it reviewed by Alternations, and approved by the Board of Directors before you start the project.

We have a wonderful group of volunteers and they do so much for us!! Denise Tyler and the Beautification Committee had a very successful poker run and intend to use the money to enhance our park. Sue Wilson and Tom Morrow head a great Recreation/Entertainment Committee, providing wonderful events for all. George Norton and his crew are working diligently to map out our street light lines. There are so many wonderful volunteers; Lorraine Leduc for making coffee at our events. Marilyn Woodruff, Barbara Hess, and all the people volunteering on a committee. I could go on and on, there are so many. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL!!

I encourage all of our residents to volunteer on some committee.  You will actually have FUN!

There are so many new faces in our park. On Sunday, February 10 from 2:00 to 4:00, we will welcome our new residents and our new maintenance/janitorial employee, Desi. You are all welcome to come out and get to know our new friends.

It’s important for us to remember that the speed limit in our community is 10 mph. The speed limit and stop signs are for everyone’s safety.
